Human Subjects Research Committee Website

Research using human subjects has the potential to contribute significantly to the understanding of cognitive, behavioral, emotional, and social processes. When conducting such research, the researcher is responsible for adhering to the ethics code geared to protecting participants. More specifically, the researcher is responsible for making sure that participants understand the nature of the study and what will be asked of them, what they will or will not receive in compensation for their participation, for treating participants respectfully, ensuring their well-being, and honoring their right to privacy. When proposing research with human subjects, researchers are required to provide accurate information about their research and to obtain institutional approval before conducting the research.

In this website, you can find information about the Committee's function and what is needed in order to submit a research approval request. The entire approval request process is carried out via this website.
