Modern Hebrew Language Ulpan

The Ulpan is an intensive immersive Hebrew language course that can be taken for either a four or six week period during the Summer or Winter. It incorporates a traditional curriculum of reading, writing, and conversation skills with mediums such as Israeli music, newspapers, movies, radio and field trips.

German-speaking students apply through the internet site: www.bgu.ac.il/zis. English-speaking students normally apply through the New York Office. Students from all language groups are placed in an appropriate level based on the results of a written exam provided by the Office of Student Services prior to departure. Levels are ranked as follows:

A Heh level course (upper advanced) is offered in the summer ulpan according to need. This level is intended primarily to boost students, who have completed the Dalet level course, to a level in which they can function fully and efficiently in a Hebrew-based academic environment.

Please Note: All students registered for a regular OSP Program will be required to take a Hebrew Language course during the period of their studies.
